About The 8:00 Minyan

The main goal of the 8:00 minyan is to have a welcoming place for young people, of all backgrounds, who are new to the community. When new people come to Kemp Mill, they often find it hard to "break in" to the community. The format of the 8:00 is made to meet this goal. The davening is not too long, but not rushed. There is a hot kiddush every week possible, to try and help people get to know each other. Hopefully the friendships built in this minyan will last many years, and keep YISE a strong community for many many years to come. Anyone and everyone is welcome in the minyan, and we urge you to come and give it a try.

We hope people realize that this is not a "break off" minyan, it is a "break in" minyan. Just like the Hashkama Minyan and the Youth Minyan, it was made to help fill the needs of our growing community. Let's remember that many years ago YISE was only on University Blvd, and if people didn't let the Arcola building start, because it could be misconstrued as a "break off" minyan, the community would have never been able to grow as large as it is today.
